promedtek
Role: ui/ux designer
Promedtek is a medical device that exclusively works with the Veterans Health Administration. Although in business for ten years, they did not have a website. They tried to put a site together themselves but brought me in when they felt their skills couldn’t do exactly what they wanted to accomplish. They are a B2B company, selling and educating their techniques to VHA doctors who would subscribe this treatment.
Wireframes
Promedtek was not used to the web-design process so I did a more fleshed out wire-frame for them so they could easily visualized what we were putting together. Their target market is primarily VHA doctors, who do not have a lot of time on their hands and secondarily, veterans who have varying degrees of tech literacy. With this in mind, I wanted to make sure that the design was simple, to the point and easy to navigate.
Visual Design
This visual design was a compromise between my desires and the client’s. I consulted that the Client get updated photos of their product but did not have creative control over this. The coloring, typography and hexagon motif was all pre-determined by the client. What I was able to do was limit the amount of text, create a consistent information architecture and make it easy to navigate the site.
Final Design
Unfortunately, we had to go with a more complex version of the original design concept because of the Client’s wishes. This included more text, in a much more confined layout than I originally suggested. Ultimately, I consult the Client but the final decision is their’s.
